Pelvic/Tailbone Pain

Pain in the tailbone can make it extremely uncomfortable to sit even for just several minutes.  This not only affects you physically but can take an emotional toll as well.  Typically there is a history of trauma in this area that causes this pain.  Unfortunately, there is typically no surgical fix if this pain is coming from the tailbone itself.  If traditional therapies such as rest and anti-inflammatories do not with this pain, it may be time to see one of our interventional pain specialists.   You may benefit from an injection in and around the tailbone itself which can alleviate your pain (see sacrococcygeal ligament injection-link).
